Some things we endure without question-needles, tests, treatments-each uncomfortable, even painful, yet necessary. Yesterday, I sat through another treatment, fully aware that it was for my ultimate good. Today, Sadie and Lexi faced their own painful shots and tests. They could not have understood what today was about, but found comfort in my presence. In much the same way, we don’t always grasp the “why” behind our struggles. Faith, however, helps us see beyond the scary moments to the One who is with us in them, mitigating our pain, easing our fears, tenderly redeeming what we would never choose, but cannot always avoid.
