The tunnels we travel

I saw them both in Colorado.

One tunnel was short. You could see the light before you ever drove inside. The other stretched long and dark, with no hint of where or when the light would break through.

I was struck by how they mirror our lives.

Some seasons are brief. The way through is clear, and though the journey may not be easy, there is visible reassurance in the exit just ahead.

But others? Others take us deep into uncertainty. We enter not knowing how long they will last or how much they will ask of us along the way.

Still, we go forward.

Because there is light. π΄π‘™π‘€π‘Žπ‘¦π‘ .

Short tunnels.
Long tunnels.

Both require entering.
Both require moving forward.
And neither guarantees ease.

Life is like that.

Sometimes we walk through seasons knowing the sun is just beyond the bend. Other times, we travel miles in shadow, unsure if we are making any progress at all.

𝐡𝑒𝑑 𝑀𝑒 π‘Žπ‘Ÿπ‘’.

Because whether the light is visible or not, it is still there, waiting.

So we keep going.

We walk by faith and not by sight.

We remember the road already traveled. We remember the grace that met us there. We remember the strength that carried us through.

We trust the faint glow in the distance, the promises written long ago, the quiet history of a faithful God who has yet to leave us in the dark.

Every tunnel, short or long, lit or shadowed, was made to be traveled π‘‘β„Žπ‘Ÿπ‘œπ‘’π‘”β„Ž.

And on the other side, always, is light.

May you keep walking, even when the way is dim.
May you trust the Light, even when it feels far off.
May the faithfulness of God, conspicuous in your story and whispered through the Word, be the guide that steadies your soul.
May you remember that even the longest tunnels have an end.
That shadow doesn’t mean absence.
And that the same God who met you in the sunlight will remain with you in the dark.

Go confidently,
go bravely,
go wrapped in the grace that leads and holds you still.
