Stories

Maya Angelou famously said, “There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.”

I concur.

So I bleed, praying my bloodletting becomes a vehicle of peace and healing for those of you living with your own heartaches, injuries, and untold stories.

“What? You too? I thought I was the only one.”

You’re not, beloved. You’re not.

God, the author and keeper of your story, is, even now, putting words to the aches you cannot name and the sorrow you cannot escape. He writes away and writes a way, redeeming every moment—every word—for His glory.

No matter what does or does not happen from this point on, there are divine consolations written into every page over which He toils. In the magnum opus that is your life, the losses and scars that seem to mar the manuscript, actually set the stage for a story like no other—a story all your own—that testifies unmistakably to the power, authority, and redemption of the One who ceaselessly touches pen to paper.

And when He finally writes “The End,” you will see how every twist and turn, every sorrow and triumph, was woven together into a masterpiece of grace.

And in that moment, it will all become clear: It was worth it! Not a single word was wasted. Not a single promise was left unfulfilled.

So, take heart, weary ones. Your faith has not, for one moment, been misplaced. God is up to something eternal and of enduring significance, and in His economy, The End will always justify the means.

“Only God can write a story that brings dead things to life.”
