Redemption’s transcendent beauty | Beverly Carroll

Redemption’s transcendent beauty

Redemption means
that nothing is wasted
and everything matters.

The answer lies
in submission to the One
who mends, redeems,
and refashions what is broken.

The beauty that results from the shards
transfigures their brokenness
into something to behold.
Something unprecedented.
Something that simply would not be,
absent the breaking.

So, rest today, fragile ones,
in the promise that surrender is not defeat.
It is the place where we are remade,
not as we were before,
but as we were always meant to be.

“And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.”
