
When the realization hits that pictures are all you have left, you desperately long for more. God, gracious, and ever near to the brokenhearted, met that longing through the kindness of others, supplying pics I didn’t know existed.
After a particularly hard Thanksgiving, I arrived home a few days later to this lovely book, sent by a friend I’ve never met in person. The kindness and compassion that prompted the unexpected gift felt straight from the heart of God, Himself.
It is yet 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 evidence of God’s care—tender, present, and personal, and it wasn’t the first time. He continues to show up and show off.

He knows what we bruised reeds can take and what we cannot, always breaking through 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 we break.
He, whose eyes are never off us, watches our wicks, fanning into flame new life 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 He sees our flickers begin to fade.
𝐖𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐞. Evidence of His abiding abounds. His fingerprints are 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞. His mercy knows no bounds.
𝐁𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬.
A bruised reed shall He not break, and a smoldering wick shall He not quench.
